About DADCO & SUNRAY

DADCO was founded in 1995 by Ron Dahlquist. Dahlquist, along with Wally Mills, designed the 24kW Challenger and the G4. Dahlquist has been a leading innovator of lighting and power distribution systems in motion picture and television lighting. He is a long time member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 728, former Chief of the Set Lighting Department at PARAMOUNT STUDIOS, and formerly President of KEYLITE PRODUCTION SERVICES, a leading independent lighting company in motion picture and television. He has been a leader in the initiation of the I.A.T.S.E. National Safety Training Program. He serves as a lecturer in that program to union locals nationwide and a consultant for motion picture and television industry safety programs globally. DADCO is a signatory with I.A.T.S.E.--Local 728.

SUNRAY is a well-known brand name recognized worldwide as an innovative designer of HMI type lighting fixtures for more than 30 years and now, Translyte "Hard Body" LED Systems.

SUNRAY was purchased by DADCO in 2009. Ron Dahlquist and Wally Mills (formerly with CINEMILLS) together have designed a new line of SUNRAY – LED, HMI and TUNGSTEN lighting fixtures. SUNRAY lighting fixtures are assembled by IATSE Local 728 union craftsmen in Sun Valley, California, in the heart of the generic Hollywood film and television community, and listed through E.T.L. to U.L. standards.
